How we do 3D printing of surgical templates for operations


Formulation of the problem

Often, doctors need auxiliary instruments for operations. In order to efficiently and accurately perform operations on animals, doctors resort to various devices. So, according to computed tomography of the bones of a dog, special templates were developed for operations.

Model creation

Such templates are necessary for accurate positioning of the instrument on the bone, so they must completely repeat the surface of the operated area. You can see the template model is located on the animal bone model on the photo. Parts were modeled in 3DsMax.

Good precision was required, so the templates were printed from VisiJet Crystal.
