ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is an impact-resistant technical thermoplastic resin obtained from petroleum products.

One of the most popular plastics for 3D printing, ABS plastic is more flexible than PLA and is easy to machine. Printed parts can be sanded, primed, and then painted with acrylic paint. Acetone treatment smooths out the unevenness (stair-stepping) typical of 3D printing.

Due to its high strength, ABS plastic is suitable for printing structural elements, cases, and mechanism elements. When printing with ABS, good ventilation will be required in the room as the plastic has an odor. If you need odorless plastic, use PLA or PETG.
