STUDIA3D has completed a project to create a large-scale interior sculpture for the SHIPHRA jewelry boutique.

The sculpture «Sleeping Ariadne» is based on a copy.

The client required an art object of high plastic complexity that would be visually indistinguishable from natural white stone, but would be lightweight, technologically advanced, and suitable for placement in a commercial interior.

The original shape was adapted by us for additive manufacturing. We prepared a 3D model, optimized the geometry for printing, and divided the object into technologically feasible segments for easy post-processing.

All elements were printed on 3D printers with a high degree of detail. After printing, each segment was manually sanded, the seams were cleaned, and the joining planes were primed and aligned.

The finish coating is made using a multi-layer tinting and matting method to imitate the texture of stone.

The texture and microrelief have been refined to the point where the material is almost indistinguishable from natural stone without tactile contact.

The project demonstrates that 3D printing with high-quality post-processing allows for the high-precision reproduction of museum specimens.
