Autodesk has released AutoCAD 2024, with key features focused primarily on accelerating workflows and enhancing collaboration through machine learning capabilities.

For example, with Activity Insights, users can take advantage of a shared log of multi-user activities with DWG files, allowing them to bridge information gaps and better track file changes, such as publish dates and times, throughout the life of a project.

The smart block replacement feature, meanwhile, offers machine learning-based block replacement suggestions, allowing users to avoid the tedious step of manually finding and replacing them individually. Block placement has been similarly redesigned: AutoCAD automatically determines the position of new blocks based on previous user behavior in the same DWG file.

Comprehensive performance improvements have also been made to improve overall stability, accuracy, and performance, resulting in a ninefold faster layout tab switching compared to AutoCAD 2023.

Finally, AutoCAD 2024 subscribers will have access to "exclusive" web and mobile features of AutoCAD Web, such as the ability to batch print to PDF files, open links directly on a mobile device, use AutoLISP to automate web commands, and access DWG files saved on local drives or on a local network.

AutoCAD 2024 is available now. For a full description of its new features, see Autodesk Blog about this theme.
